There was no joy with the tips in either of todays races,
thereby completing a pretty miserable weekend…
The
handicap hurdle was run at a farcical pace, considering the field size – and you
were left with the feeling that the winner was the horse who got the best
passage and showed the best turn of foot.
That
said, both Vive La France and Bamako Moriviere were never sighted with a chance,
so I don’t think it would have mattered too much to them, how the race had
unfolded…
It
was a similar situation with handicap chase, where again there was precious
little pace.
I
thought that Adrian Heskin had Los Amigos positioned perfectly on the heels of
the leader – though he was never going to be suited by a sprint
finish.
Again however, that’s what materialised, and it was
Empire of Dirt who was the beneficiary.
Los
Amigos plodded on into a well beaten 7th – as befits a horse whose
penultimate run was in the Irish National.
In
the other race of major interest on the card, Childrens List looked like he was
going to win, when taking the lead approaching the final flight, but he was run
down close home by Golan Lodge.
It’s
been that kind of a weekend…
TVB.
